 ...in Santa Cruz Baja Verapaz, Guatemala...

Over the last 7 years, I have had the opportunity to be the coordinator of a long-term service project in Santa Cruz Baja Verapaz - a remote village located in the highlands of central Guatemala.  Working with other organizations in the United States and Guatemala, our project members implement initiatives in Santa Cruz to address their most critical issues: poverty, illiteracy, and disease. Each year, I have had the privilege of taking a group of college students to the village to conduct programs which promote education, health, and economic self-sufficiency.

Over the 7 years of the project, our student teams and I have developed many unique gifts to use in fundraising. We offer some of these products to you on this site. 

I'm excited to tell you that our fundraising efforts so far have raised approximately $35,000 - and 100% of our profits has gone to support the work in Santa Cruz!  Check out our Project History and Results page for an exciting summary of the changes which have taken place in our favorite Guatemalan village!       ---Susan
